We proudly introduce a new 1/32 resin figure to you from Qing Yi Miniatures. This highly detailed resin figure is a Soviet fighter pilot in the era from 1941 to 1942. The figure will be available in mid April.
This pilot figure was inspired by a photo of the famous Soviet fighter ace - Lieutenant-Colonel Boris F. Safonov (26 August 1915 – 30 May 1942). He was the commanding officer of the 72nd Mixed Aviation Regiment of the Soviet Naval Aviation in 1942. Official records show that he has 20 individual kills and 6 shared kills. He was rewarded Hero of the Soviet Union (16 September 1941 and 27 May 1942) and the British Distinguished Flying Cross, among many other rewards. He flew the Polikarpov I-16, the Hawker Hurricane and the Curtiss P-40E. He was killed on 30 May 1942 in a plane crash during an air combat operation.
